Other banks also did the same. 2014 February Peter Hocken supplied the window box photo and advised: "This was 27-32 Old Jewry, London EC2. At the end of street is Gresham Street. Back then there was an annual competition for the best window box floral displays."
2020 May Peter Hocken advised: "This image has been sent to me from a former CBC employee who responded to this advert in 1965. I thought you may like to include it in your webpage. I joined in 1969 and the luncheon vouchers were still 4/- then. In today’s UK money that’s 20pence. The result of the lockdown causing some to have a clear out and discovery of a gem from the past." |
