Joan was the beloved wife of Harold Wood, both members of the CBC Retired Officers Club. Joan had been in ill health for some time and passed away peacefully at her nursing home. Harold and Joan had been married for 52 very happy years.
Joan joined the CBC Bank in January 1956 at Willow Tree Branch and from there was transferred to Sydney University Branch, a big change, as there were 32 + staff. Joan met Harold in 1970 and they were married in 1972. Joan’s service also included Hurstville Branch. Harold was then Security Clerk at Kogarah Branch . She left in 1974 to have their first child, a daughter, Alison.
Joan supported Harold in his career with the Bank and according to Harold, was happy to follow him wherever he was transferred, including both metropolitan and country branches. Harold retired from Raymond Terrace Branch and they moved to Melbourne to be closer to their daughter.
